Evelyn is a Class of 2027 senior at Arrowhead High School, and we headed to Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha for her senior photography session.
And OH MY GOSH.
This session was SO much fun.
Evelyn had me laughing throughout her session, and I absolutely loved getting to know her while we explored Retzer and created a senior gallery that felt natural, relaxed and completely her.
Because that’s exactly what I want senior pictures to be.
Not stiff.
Not awkward.
And definitely not an hour of wondering:
“What am I supposed to do with my hands?!”

Arrowhead High School Senior Pictures That Actually Feel Like You
There are about a million things happening during senior year.
College applications. Football games. Homecoming. Graduation plans. Figuring out what’s next.
Senior pictures are one of the few parts where you get to stop for a minute and celebrate who you are right now.
That’s why I don’t want every senior who comes in front of my camera to get the exact same poses and the exact same pictures.
Your senior gallery should look like you.
Whether you’re outgoing and ready to work the camera or you show up telling me that you’re incredibly awkward in photos, we’ll make it work.
Actually, if you think you’re awkward?
You’re probably my people. 😂
You don’t need any modeling experience. You don’t need to know your best angles. And you definitely don’t need to spend the week before your session practicing poses in the mirror.
I’ll take care of that part.
My job as your photographer is to guide you, keep you moving, help you feel comfortable and make sure we’re having enough fun that you eventually forget you’re supposed to be nervous.

Evelyn’s Senior Pictures at Retzer Nature Center
For Evelyn’s senior session, we chose Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Retzer is one of my favorite locations when a senior wants a natural outdoor look because there is so much variety within one location.
Fields, trails, trees, greenery and gorgeous natural light give us the ability to create completely different looks without spending half of your senior session driving around southeastern Wisconsin.
And that’s a big deal.
I’d much rather spend your session taking amazing pictures and having fun than sitting in traffic.

You Don’t Have to Know Where You Want Your Senior Pictures Taken
This is something I want every senior — and every parent trying to plan senior pictures — to know:
You don’t need to have everything figured out before contacting me.
You don’t need to know the perfect location.
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re going to wear.
You don’t need a Pinterest board with 847 poses.
Tell me what you like.
Tell me what you DON’T like.
Tell me if you want fields and flowers, an urban Milwaukee vibe, Lake Michigan, architecture, nature or a little bit of everything.
We’ll figure out a location that fits the look you want.
Retzer Nature Center happened to be perfect for Evelyn, but your session doesn’t have to look like hers.
That’s the point.
What Should You Wear for Arrowhead High School Senior Pictures?
The most important rule?
Wear something that makes you feel freaking fantastic.
Not something your mom loves but you secretly hate.
Sorry, moms. I still love you. 😂
You want outfits that photograph well, but you also want to recognize yourself when you look back at these pictures years from now.
Depending on your senior collection, bringing different outfits can also give your gallery more variety. You might choose something casual, something dressier, and something that shows a little more of your personality.
And don’t be afraid to bring options.
I’d rather help you decide what photographs best than have you spend the entire week before your session stressing about it.

Seriously.
Most people aren’t naturally comfortable with a camera pointed at them. You don’t need to know how to pose because I’ll guide you through your entire session. My goal is to get you interacting, moving and laughing so your pictures feel natural instead of forced.
